Fashion’s Real Reset Starts Now

Cantino exits the company in September 2025 and is replaced by Francesca Bellettini. Last year, Gucci hired a number of senior executives, including Chief Financial Officer Gianluca de Ficchy (formerly at Renault) and Chief Customer, Marketing and Commercial Officer Dario Gargiulo (formerly CEO of Bottega Veneta Greater China).

Amid all these changes, François Henri-Pinault, who has owned and run Kering since 2005, resigned as CEO in September 2025 to become group chairman. That same month, former Renault CEO Luca de Meo took over as CEO.

Jean Paul Gaultier appointed Duran Lantink as creative director in April 2025, responsible for the haute couture and ready-to-wear business. By appointing the Dutch talent to a formal role, the brand has put the brakes on its rotating designer model, which it put in place following the retirement of its eponymous founder in 2020 on the occasion of the brand’s 50th anniversary. During these five years, Chitose Abe, Glenn Martens, Olivier Rousteing, Haider Ackermann, Julien Dossena, Simone Rocha, Nicolas Di Felice and Ludovic de Saint Sernin all attempted to design collections for Puig’s brands.

Lantink’s job at JPG marks the 39-year-old’s first time leading a company other than his own, which he founded in 2016; the Duran Lantink brand has been put on hold since taking on the role. Lantink works under the leadership of Antoine Gagey, general manager of the brand since October 2019. Following the appointment of creative director, Mehdy Delannée, who previously worked at Dior and Galeries Lafayette, was appointed image director.

Jil Sander’s creative reset begins in February 2025. Co-creative directors Luke and Lucie Meier have announced that they will be leaving the brand they have led creatively for seven years, including through an OTB acquisition, after the Autumn/Winter 2025 fashion show in Berlin. A month later, Jil Sander announced that it had appointed Simone Bellotti to replace them, who joins after two and a half years leading Bally’s creative vision and 16 years at Gucci. Bellotti’s debut collection was critically acclaimed. While the brand’s recent stewards have taken it in different directions, from Raf Simons’ couture designs to the Meiers family’s exploration of texture and shape, Bellotti’s vision aligns more easily with the founder’s refined ’90s style.

In parallel with the creative transformation, Serge Brunschwig joined as CEO in February 2025, but he made an unexpected exit just six months later. Since Brunschwig’s departure, Ubaldo Minelli has assumed the role of CEO and also serves as CEO of the OTB Group.

Since Bruno Sialelli left in April 2023, Lanvin has been looking for the next artistic director, and subsequently appointed fashion designer Peter Copping with technical expertise to inject new vitality into the brand. The experienced designer, known for his feminine creations, joined the heritage house in September 2024. After two years leading design under Oscar de la Renta (as de la Renta’s successor), Copping most recently led Balenciaga’s VIP and special projects studio.

After Lanvin Group CEO Eric Chan stepped down in December 2023 (now defunct), Lanvin appointed Andy Lew as executive president to lead the group. Under Lou’s leadership, a second European headquarters was established as part of a wider expansion plan that included Lanvin’s return to Paris Fashion Week. Copping debuted this year and embodies the same design magic as Lanvin’s historical star designer Alber Elbaz.

With the help of CEO Pascale Lepoivre, Loewe transformed from a quiet leather goods company into the crown jewel of the Anderson era. The CEO has held the position since 2016 but has been part of the LVMH group for more than 30 years. She joins Loewe three years after Jonathan Anderson took the reins. The Northern Irish designer was appointed creative director of the Spanish label in September 2013, where he has built a rich and eclectic brand rooted in artisanal heritage.
