drama Dare to ask how much we really want to know the people closest to us – Norwegian filmmaker Bogli pushes the wedding movie genre into entirely new territory with a bold, dark and heartfelt look at love. “To me, this movie is really about what you’re willing to accept for love and asks the question: ‘Is love unconditional?'” Zendaya mused. “In my real life, this movie reminded me of love: if you feel safe with someone, if you feel known by someone, and you feel seen by someone; then you feel like you can tell them everything,” she said. “Because of that, you feel like you know them on every level. That’s the hope, right? It feels like you’re with someone who can be their full, authentic self, and they’re going to love every part of it.”
Pattinson plays British expat Charlie Thompson, a museum curator who is hesitant to say “I do.” When asked how to really know someone that, Pattinson offered: “With any relationship, it’s a leap of faith. You never know someone 100 percent, but you have to trust them. You can’t control someone’s past, you have nothing to do with it — you don’t own it. You always have to make a decision. I think the bottom line is, if you can’t handle something, then you shouldn’t torture someone about it because you probably don’t deserve them.”
drama marks the first time the two have shared the screen together – something they would do twice more (Odyssey and Dune: Part 3) later this year, so it’s no surprise they’ve become good friends. “My favorite character trait about Rob is it’s hard to tell when he’s trying to be funny and when he’s serious because he laughs at everything, but I think I’m better at it now,” Zendaya said. “The thing I admire most about him is that he has an incredible talent. I’ve seen him transform into so many different characters. He makes it all look so easy, but that’s not fair,” she laughs.
“Zendaya is so professional and she’s so sweet to everyone,” Pattinson praised. “She really takes the time to get to know everyone and the whole crew. Now in three movies, I’ve seen the same thing. She’s so consistent and it’s really great.”
After the screening, bustling guests marched several blocks across Sunset Boulevard to the fabled Chateau Marmont for the after-party. Zendaya made a quick change, stepping out to the outdoor bash in a custom white lace design by Harris Reed. Surrounded by palm trees, lush gardens, and the hotel’s famous swimming pool strewn with hundreds of red rose petals, she caught up dune Director Denis Villeneuve. “I’m traumatized,” he joked to her after watching the movie.
Soon after, Zendaya’s two daughters Billie and Georgia Dane Euphoria Actor Eric Dane, who sadly passed away in February, paid tribute to her and gave her a big hug.
