The fall 2026 menswear shows haven’t even ended yet, and the physical invitations to Paris Haute Couture Week spring 2026 are starting to arrive — and for good reason. Haute couture is where fashion’s most imaginative ideas come to life, and this season in particular is shaping up to be one of the most newsy on record. Valentino Garavani’s eponymous label will make its first appearance since the founder’s death last week, while Matthieu Blazy and Jonathan Anderson will also present their first haute couture proposals for Chanel and Christian Dior after debuting womenswear during the Carousel during Super September.
If that tumultuous period – which saw an unprecedented 15 newly appointed designers debuting in the industry – proved anything, it’s that clothes alone don’t build a brand. Of course, a recognizable cut or a potentially trendy bag will help, but again it depends on who’s on the guest list and how much and what kind of attention they’re able to attract. That’s why, while the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s notoriously strict quotas have kept the number of shows scheduled to take place sparse, this week’s front row was anything but.
