Emma Stone on Her “Unexpectedly Fun” Growing-Out Process for the Golden Globes 2026

Emma Stone loves to dazzle on the Golden Globes red carpet. Last year, the actor chose to debut her freshly chopped hair on the 2025 Golden Globes carpet — a requirement for her role as CEO Michelle Fuller in “The Globes.” Bugonia, On screen she had a shaved head. She will continue to teach hair growth masterclasses at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, with longtime hairstylist Mara Roszak playing an important supporting role.

“Growing up was surprisingly fun,” Stone said. “The first three months were the hardest part because I wore a beanie all the time. It was short and buzzy and I found it a bit boring to wear a beanie all the time. But once you get to pixie length, from then on, it’s a really fun process. You get to try so many different styles.”

Tonight, Stone and Rozak opted for an ultra-modern, clean style to match her custom Louis Vuitton dress. “We’re in the era of the bob,” Rozak shared of the hairstyle. First, she prepped the actor’s chin length with Roz Hair Milk Serum, then used a small round brush to shape and add slight curves. “Last year we debuted this stunningly beautiful elf, but this year it’s subtle and modern.”

“I don’t know if I have any good advice for people with hair, but I would say probably just embrace it,” Stone continued. “Fighting it or being angry about how long it lasts is a real waste of time. You can always find something fun to do with it.” It also helps to have a good hairstylist you trust, she says. Stone and Roszak have been working together for nearly 20 years now and have gone through many hair evolutions together. “I trusted her completely growing up. We’ve gone through many hair lengths and colors and Marla has been a consistent, incredible person in my life.”

Since Stone came out with the pixie cut, the popularity of ultra-short hair has increased nationwide. “It’s incredible to see a woman be so fearless with her hair,” Rozak said, adding that people have been coming to her Los Angeles salon, Mare, and saying Emma is their inspiration. “Women from all walks of life—including severe postpartum hair loss and chemotherapy—come to see a pixie cut. It’s so empowering to see a truly chic and approachable actress wearing a hairstyle like this on the red carpet.”
