Beijing – The fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, China’s top political advisory body, will open in Beijing on Wednesday. The formulation of the “15th Five-Year Plan” from 2026 to 2030 will be the focus of the meeting, with about 2,100 members gathering to discuss the draft outline of an important blueprint for China’s economic and social development.
The Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference met on Sunday and approved the decision.
According to the proposed agenda, the political adviser will listen to and review the work report of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the report on the handling of proposals since the last annual meeting.
The members will also attend the fourth session of the 14th National People’s Congress, China’s top legislative body, to listen to and discuss the government work report and other relevant reports. Their discussions will provide important input on major national policies and strategic goals.
The meeting press conference is scheduled to be held at 3 pm on Tuesday at the Great Hall of the People. Conference spokesperson Liu Jieyi will introduce the preparations for the conference to the media and answer questions from domestic and foreign reporters.
