Kering announced today that Bottega Veneta CEO Bartolomeo Rongone will exit the brand on March 31. Luca de Meo, CEO of Kering Group, said in a statement: “I would like to thank Leo Rongone for his leadership and the significant contribution he has made to Bottega Veneta over the past six years. During his tenure, he has achieved important milestones with the team and supported the continued development of the brand. I wish him all the best in his future career.”
Rongone took office in 2019 and has led the brand through a period of intense change, from the unexpected exit of Daniel Lee in 2021, to the appointment of Matthieu Blazy, and then to the subsequent appointment of current creative director Louise Trotter. Blazy became Chanel creative director in December 2024. Trotter’s richly textured debut in September was well received by critics. She will launch her second collection in February 2026.
During Rongone’s tenure, Bottega Veneta has grown from a little-known, sophisticated brand under Kering to one of the most talked-about brands in the world. Brand revenue has grown steadily, from 1.12 billion euros in 2019 to 1.7 billion euros in 2024. Most recently, in the third quarter of 2025, Bottega became a bright spot for Kering, with revenue growing by 3% while other brands faced losses.
Kering Group said in a statement that the selection of Bottega Veneta’s next CEO is in progress and the appointment of the new CEO will be announced in the near future.
It was also noted that “the Bottega Veneta management team is fully committed to continuing the brand’s positive momentum, together with Kering.”
