In case you missed the designer’s announcement on Instagram, Svitlana Bevza is pregnant with her third child. The good news meant she had to put her seasonal trips to New York on hold to host appointments, but since the outbreak of war in Ukraine prevented her from returning to her Kiev studio, she’s become an expert at holding meetings and designing series via Zoom. With motherhood in mind, Bevza designs collections that are not only beautiful, but also fit and comfortable.
Casual style means a more relaxed style than usual. Knitwear is a big part of this, perfect for après ski season or prenatal wear. Sweaters come in a variety of lengths, from regular to long, with the mini-dress style one of Bevza’s favorite pieces: she decided to make it after finding it difficult to get dressed in the morning. “I basically don’t fit into my pants anymore,” she said. “So I needed something that I could wear with leggings.” The pants in this collection are pants that everyone wants to have in their wardrobe, and feature extended ties at each hip so they can be worn in a variety of ways to suit any occasion.
