The fall 2026 fashion shows continue apace in London, but tonight the capital’s attention turns to fashion in a different context: the 2026 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) red carpet.
So here we are, at Fashion Staying sane with leather tags at HQ, watching the spotlight sweep across the Thames skyline, some of Hollywood’s biggest names – Monica Bellucci, Emma Stone, Odessa Azian, Timothée Chalamet, Jesse Buckley, Chase Infiniti, Teyana Taylor, Patrick Dempsey, Gillian Anderson, Kate Hudson, Glenn Close and Jacob Elordi – descend on the Royal Festival Hall for British cinema’s biggest night.
Who among them would dare wear the “Paul Mescal” dress that Central Saint Martins graduate Oli Clarke just walked down the catwalk at the Fashion Institute of Technology MA show? There may not be one. Oh well: The BAFTAs are rarely short of stylish ideas. Think: Marianne Jean-Baptiste in what she called a “milky” McQueen; Colman Domingo in grungy-chic Versace; Gwendoline Christie at last year’s awards show dressed by her partner Giles Deacon Designed gothic black silk dress with a beautiful figure.
