The British dog show Crufts really came into fashion in 2025, when Miuccia, a four-year-old whippet from Venice, beat more than 18,000 dogs to be crowned Best Dog in Show at the NEC in Birmingham. While this year’s winner—an adorable Clumber terrier named Bruin from Somerset—isn’t named after a revered designer, if fashion editors’ Instagram feeds over the weekend are any indication, purebred dogs are still as glamorous as the catwalks at Paris Fashion Week. Probably (pardon the pun) equally vicious!
“He’s a bit of a diva, a bit like me really,” Bruin’s owner Lee Cox told the Crufts commentator after his pet’s victory – a line-up that now includes British national treasure Claudia Winkleman, whose sleek mane rivals the luster of the fur of the most well-tended thoroughbreds.
