Anya Taylor-Joy and Willow Smith Took a Trip to the Dior Sweet Shop

A pink baby candy store popped up on West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip on Tuesday — and will be open for one night only. Stars of the silver screen and content creators were on hand to celebrate the launch of the new Dior Addict lip oil and rose, peach and purple gloss fragrances, and attended a sugar-themed soirée with Dior Beauty. Guests are welcome to taste delicious candies while admiring the latest recipes.

By 6 p.m., the venue was packed with attendees, who were greeted with life-size lip gloss and allowed to take photos with them. Just around the corner, a room filled with desserts elicited audible gasps. Apothecary jars are stuffed with chocolate chips, gum balls, assorted jellies and gummies, while a DIY Canelé station in the back offers custom-made bite-sized cakes topped with powdered sugar, strawberries and sliced ​​almonds. Everywhere you look, people are huddled around mirrors, keen to try new products that are infused with cherry oil for all-day hydration.

Peter Philips, Dior’s creative and image director of makeup, says the team was careful not to completely change the formula of the famous lip gloss—after all, it has a cult following for a reason. “But for me, it missed something, and that was the effect,” Philips explains. “We spent about two to three years fine-tuning it without changing much, but offering the possibility to add pigments and different finishes.” The result: two new gloss finishes, Sparkly and Glaze, available in 16 gloss shades.

Anya Taylor-Joy, global brand ambassador for Dior, wore a fairy-tale custom gown embellished with embellishments and sparkling lips. She’s been trying it out for a while, after being given a VIP early sample of the new-look lip oil. “Your lips can actually absorb a lot more oil than you think. It doesn’t move around as much—so you can apply it harder,” she laughs.
