Boolean– It’s cold outside, isn’t it?
New York Fashion Week has kicked off, and audiences are running from one show to the next amid freezing winter conditions. But if yesterday’s first day proved anything, it’s that the frigid temperatures didn’t stop them from showing off their best looks to street style photographers.
In fact, quite the opposite is true: Bold outerwear, elegant gloves and colorful scarves all support this season’s comfortable-chic dressing. But few accessories work overtime like this perky little hat. From the structured pill hats that have recently become popular among street style stars to the furry bucket hats, the fashion world is keeping the ears warm with eye-catching top hats.

At the Collina Strada show, many attendees wore the brand’s quirky furry hats. (If you want a disco topper with hanging yarn, Collina Strada has you covered.) character. Chloe King, who is often snapped wearing a plaid flower girl hat, FashionOwn fashion marketing director Naomi Elizée wore a knitted beanie with built-in ears. Love it or hate it, there’s also plenty of fuzz and (faux) fur, and fashionable VIPs tend toward plush silhouettes.

If you think about it, having hats take center stage at Winter Fashion Week is pretty cool smart. If you want to keep your head warm, you might as well have a practical accessory double the job and provide a whimsical statement in the process. Even as New York Fashion Week comes to a close, when editors and influencers are tired of matching incredibly cool outfits, you can bet that a fun and quirky start will turn any outfit into instant street style bait. Plus, your ears won’t get frostbite! A win-win situation.
