For the first time in 60 years, the fire horse (also known as the red horse) has reappeared. The Year of the Horse includes 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014 and 2026, while the Year of Fire has 6 or 7 at the end; Yang Fire is six and Yin Fire is seven. Thus, the appearance of a dashing stallion carries with it great ferocity and bravado. There will be many challenges, but we hope to overcome these obstacles and setbacks with enthusiasm so that we can build a prosperous future.
The Beginning of Spring, according to the eight-character calendar, is the beginning of spring on February 4, which is a few days before New Year’s Day. Saving money, wearing red, embodying our goals, and egg balancing (an egg placed on its pointed edge to represent good luck and abundance) are just a few ways we can harness positivity as we embrace new beginnings.
This year New Year’s Day falls on February 17, coinciding with the annual Solar Eclipse in Aquarius (the phase of the moon that indicates our evolution). Fireworks, celebrating reunion dinners, eating with family and friends, giving red envelopes of cash to loved ones, and symbolic dances are all ways to celebrate this holiday. The celebrations end with the Lantern Festival on March 3, during the total lunar eclipse in Virgo (the perverted finale). Finally, the fire horse will end its stampede on February 6, 2027.
For most people, the Wood Snake marks a year of growth and an opportunity to release old habits and ideologies. We are currently entering into an inspiring consciousness born of decay and the lessons of the past – this “shedding” allows us to be reborn as the Fire Horse blossoms into fruition. Ultimately, the Fire Goat of 2027 will tone down the Fire Horse’s explosive vibe a bit, allowing creativity to take center stage. However, we will still be tempering the stubbornness and intensity of the energy of 2026. If we surrender to this crazy, ferocious, unpredictable nature, we can come out the other side unscathed. Go with the flow and transform into a beautiful and magical unicorn.
According to astrology, the Horse represents adventure, perseverance, endurance, charisma and independence. It is the seventh sign of the zodiac and has a direct, forthright nature—no beating around the bush. Sometimes, Horse people can be enthusiastic and act impulsively without careful consideration. This character trait makes people born in the Year of the Horse bold and daring. Those who benefit from this fiery cosmic transit will be able to demonstrate their confidence by setting high standards for what they can achieve through hard work.
Add the properties of fire and the horse can soar. The five elements are one of the five elements, which include wood, fire, earth, water and metal. The friction of wood creates fire; fire brings ashes that help us rebuild the earth; water is needed for cooling and growth; and metal forms structure. Everything is interconnected and needs each other to thrive and survive. Fire is a major life force that gives us the opportunity to expand our horizons and change. Since 2026 represents Yang Fire (from Yin Yang philosophy), the fire element is in its natural habitat, encouraging us to be proactive and productive. The universe is pushing us towards greatness, inspiring us to reach the stars and beyond.
The Fire Horse does not guarantee decisiveness. In fact, quite the opposite is true. Often, we may feel an overwhelming sense of hesitation that prevents us from committing to a relationship, faith, project, or career—especially when it comes to love—unless we align ourselves with someone who gives us the freedom and motivation to be our unique selves. As we gallop forward, it’s crucial to find middle ground and pace ourselves. Before getting into a situation, take some time to reflect and think things over. Be patient and make sure your ideas are carefully planned. Haste makes waste.
