In Odeeh’s world, it’s all about color and pattern. On a research trip to Italy that took designers Otto Drögsler and Jörg Ehrlich to Arezzo, Florence, Pisa, Forte dei Marmi and Assisi, they were inspired by 1950s jewelry and kitschy stained glass they found at flea markets and antique shops. Their findings inspired the damasks and rhinestones in their new fall collection.
There’s nothing wintery about their new looks; even wool coats and bomber jackets don’t compromise the lightness of layered garments. Instead, they confidently threw on their skirts over their pants, threw on a few hats and scarves, and rode out the end of summer. Titled “The Many Faces of the Curious Woman,” the two designers present a collection built on contradictions and surprises. They always promote freedom and expression without going too far. Sometimes that means a black midi dress, sometimes it means a head-turning combination of prints. Their only rule is: “Remain relaxed no matter what.”
