Philippine Billionaire Manuel Villar Rejects Insider Trading, Market Manipulation Allegations

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged Manuel Villar, his flagship company Villar Land, and its directors with committing fraud when they released financial statements in March 2025 that inflated 2024 net profits to $17 billion. This was due to huge property revaluation gains that were later rejected by external auditors.
