Rihanna and Hailey Bieber Make the Case for the Statement Anklet

As a wise woman once sang, “Shine like a diamond.” Today, Rihanna lives life on her own terms.

This past holiday season, Hailey Bieber ditched the tinsel and sequins in favor of another sparkly element: a dramatic statement anklet. In mid-December, Bieber was spotted on her way to a holiday party, attracting paparazzi flashes with her brand-new jewelry.

In early January, Bieber took a closer look at the anklet on Instagram, where she placed the shiny nameplate next to her son Jake’s feet. After all, it was for his honor. Bieber commissioned New York jeweler Alex Moss to create this 14-carat diamond-encrusted cursive painting. “Hailey had been looking for a little charm anklet that would fit her perfectly. She decided to name it ‘Jack’ in honor of her son,” Moss said. Fashion.

Bieber is a famous fan of anklets. In the summer of 2023, she especially likes a gold chain studded with diamonds. While anklets tend to be less noticeable, she thinks anklets are the next big thing. Who better for the job than Moss? Moss designed Bieber’s fluffy pavé B pendant, or Justin’s colorful diamond-coated mushroom necklace. As Moss says, “Jewelry will be redefined in 2026. Anklets are back because the unexpected is the new luxury.”
