Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Go Matrix Mode in Paris

It’s a big week for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who are on the East Coast promoting Rocky’s latest album Don’t be stupid. Of course, each appearance was accompanied by a wealth of looks – Rihanna embraced current 2016 fashion trends, pairing them with denim, as well as comfortable weather dressing, all Rihanna style. Now, the couple has flown to Paris matrix model.

Rocky performed at the Gala Des Pièces Jaune (a lineup that also included Christina Aguilera, Stray Kids, Gims, G-Dragon and Future) before heading to celebrity favorite Siena, Italy with Rih — who, of course, wasn’t Giorgio Baldi.

Both opted for all-black and leather: Rihanna wore an ankle-length pleated leather shirtdress with draped panels and a curved collar, layered with a black shift dress and barely there stilettos. She carried a black woven Bottega Veneta clutch and furry shawl, and also wore a fur boa, drop earrings and a layered diamond necklace. Her freshly cut bangs brushed the top of her angular sunglasses.

Rocky was by her side, maintaining his own stylish, tailored monochrome look. The rapper wore a collarless wool blazer with braided lapels and cuffs and a crystal brooch fastened to the front pocket, matching tailored trousers, a pastel pink shirt and red tie, patent black shoes and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Rather than opting for solid colors, the couple usually opts for simple monochrome matrix After two back-to-back shows in New York, the Parisian chic felt like a perfect fit. Across the pond, Rocky is creating high-octane tailoring and patterned outerwear with Chanel and Saint Laurent fresh off the runway. Rih, meanwhile, made the case for the return of the much-maligned tiger pattern, but has long favored python prints, stripes and sherbet hues.

When it comes to all-black looks, Rihanna is anything but simple, playing with contrast, texture and skin (and bumps) revealing looks via Alaïa and Jean Paul Gaultier. Trust Rihanna to always keep us guessing where she would land on the color wheel.
