SZA feels like her best self when she embraces the whimsical side of fashion. While the singer describes her style as creative, comfortable, and expressive, she also offers some colorful details.
“I feel like there’s a forest fairy inside me, a dirty, perennial, long-lived teenage boy, but mixed with an old oracle woman,” she told me Fashion Hit the runways during Paris Fashion Week Men. (When she’s not sitting in the front row, she likes to pass the time riding her bike through the streets. “It makes me feel naughty and fun.”)
And, according to SZA, Pharrell Williams is the high priest of playfulness. “When I think of Pharrell, I think of whimsy,” she said. “I think that’s what he brings to any space. It’s like a sense of whimsy and freshness.” SZA, who was also among the front row attendees at Williams’ fall 2026 Louis Vuitton show, was particularly interested in the creative director’s overall approach to production. “You could tell he put a lot of thought into the live music with the orchestra and choir,” she said. “The sound was crazy.”
SZA prioritized comfort at the Vuitton show, wearing a white button-down top that hit her sternum, pajama-style striped trousers and a brown leather coat. She completed the laid-back look with a pair of one-of-a-kind Vans designed by New York jeweler Rachel Goatley, and carried a bag straight from the Spring 2026 runway. “I chose this look because it’s comfortable, very relaxing, and the leather is super quality,” she says. “The coat is buttery and the bag feels like I’m on vacation.”
