At the 2025 Met Gala, Fashion Claim that breasts are back – a fact that will resonate throughout the year as heaving breasts (natural and artificial) appear everywhere on the red carpet. Now, 2026 will prioritize a different kind of schism.
After introducing big butts in Alexander McQueen’s Spring 1995 collection, the bare-butt look has been revived several times – most recently in McQueen’s Spring 2026 collection, designed by Seán McGirr. Alex Consani sauntered down the catwalk in a pair of ruffled red lace pants, her hips rising above the top of a leather waistband like a pair of breasts in a push-up bra.
Celebrities are also trying this look. At the 2024 Met Gala, Kendall Jenner chose a never-worn Givenchy dress by Alexander McQueen (who else?), with a strip of mesh hanging low on Jenner’s hips, leaving just a glimpse of her butt.
Others are going a step further in 2025. vanity fair Zoë Kravitz hit the carpet at the Oscars party in a custom black dress by Saint Laurent that featured clear rhinestone embellishments on the back that accentuated her hips. Kravitz’s friend Hailey Bieber followed suit at the 2025 GQ Person of the Year Awards, choosing to reveal a ’90s-inspired whale tail from her sheer beaded dress.
With the resurgence of the McQueen retro trend and fashion-forward celebrities experimenting with bold displays, we can only wonder: Will 2026 be the year of fashion?
