London-based Punk-Rap Duo first announced its departure via Instagram, with “logistical complications” as the official cause. “We decided not to join our friend Gogol Bordello for the upcoming European tour,” they wrote.

“However, we will be heading to Europe for festivals and title shows in the coming months. Please post the EU headlines as soon as possible.”

The move comes after Bob Vylan’s fires sparked by a stage show in West Holts in Glastonbury in June, where they expressed their support for Palestine, condemned Israel and led the crowd to shout “death to the IDF.” The moment critics convened comments, there was immediate backlash in online and international media.

The duo took to the festival stage in front of Kneecap, another Israeli support for Palestinians in the Hamas War.

This controversy quickly spread into their professional relationship. A venue in Cologne, Germany abandoned the show by Gogol Bordello after Bob Vylan was initially announced as support. Gogol Bordello later shared his statement, clarifying that it was not our decision to cancel Cologne, but something we had no control. ”

“After that, we need to evaluate the situation, we decided to remove the BV from the tour until we can fully understand the situation.”

Gogol Bordello noted that they reopened their discussions with Bob Vylan after the duo’s longer explanation of Glastonbury’s speech. However, they concluded that “logically it is impossible… considering this situation” as support.

“We worked diligently with our friend Bob Vylan and found a solution, but it didn’t end up solving it,” they said. “Gogol Bordello is composed of members from all ethnic groups and celebrates international understanding. We look at freedom of speech from all angles.”

Within the weeks following the performance in Glastonbury, Bob Vylan faced a clear impact. The two were removed from the Manchester Radar Festival lineup, withdrew their U.S. visas and reportedly parted ways with their agents. Damon Albarn called it controversial in an interview last week, calling it “one of the most spectacular fires I’ve ever seen in my life.”

But the duo also found high-profile supporters: Chuck d Chuck d of the public enemy said unity, with a massive attack, urging the media to focus on “what happens every day in the Gaza people.”

Bob Vylan illuminates their place in a lengthy statement. “We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or a group of people. We are for the removal of violent military machines… We are like in the spotlight before us, not stories. Our distraction to stories. Whatever the sanctions we get, we are distracted.”

Bob Vylan performed their first British show last week at Glastonbury, London’s 100 Club, asking fans to stop chanting “death” after a small group of attendees tried to restore the hymn.

Meanwhile, Gogol Bordello’s European tour will begin in September, which includes a UK date and a titled show at the London Electric Ballroom on November 1.
