The Best Hudson Valley Hotels for an Idyllic Getaway

1 min read

Bohemian-Meets-Belle Epoque is the best way to describe the interior design of a manufacturer, a boutique hotel where over 70% of the decor is old-fashioned. Their four historic buildings, including the 1800s carriage house, are decorated with Moroccan carpets, stained glass, jewel-toned furniture and wallpaper designed by the property’s co-founder. Even the bed is one of the few new works, all made in the French Louis XV style. As far as dining experience is concerned, the all-day café is inspired by European cafés, while the main restaurant is located in the Glass Academy of Music.

  • Conveniences: Gym, on-site restaurant
  • address: 12534, 302 Warren Street, Hudson, New York
The best hotels in Hudson Valley on idyllic vacation

Taavo Somer talks about his high-design, 225-acre retreat, one of the best hotels in the Hudson Valley. (In case you doubted its cult appeal: Recently, Inness and interior designers The Post Company released a furniture collection together with Sixpenny of the hotel’s coveted minimalist furniture.) Dotting the pastoral grounds are 28 cabinets, a 12-room Dutch Colonial farmhouse, a restaurant, two swimming pools, a nine-hole golf course, and a three-acre organic garden, as well as a wild garden designed by Famed landscape architect Miranda Brooks. There is no shortage of outdoor activities.

Last spring, Inness finally opened the highly anticipated 7,000-square-foot spa. Fashion Contributor Megan Angelo described it as “a place where Taylor Swift would one day write a natural-style album, she visited the massage.” “Every finish is interesting – where can you find a treatment room with nods to James Tourel’s art?”
