Nestled on Santorini’s highest mountain, away from the crowds, Sky Hotel Santorini is a multi-suite hotel especially popular with honeymooners. Even though my brief solitary stay was also a completely restorative break from everything (and everyone). All suites are spacious, but the master villa is the best of them all, with a private terrace, indoor and outdoor showers, an infinity pool, a double sofa bed and a jacuzzi.
The only time I encountered other guests was at breakfast in the common room, where snacks were plentiful throughout the day and I was encouraged to fill my basket with takeaway snacks. Otherwise, for most of my stay it was just me, my infinity pool, and a bird’s-eye view of the entire south coast of the island. If you’re like me and can’t get away from dinner, the on-site staff can help you easily order food from local restaurants.
