Yesterday, news broke that Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (you might know him as Bad Bunny) would be teaming up with Spanish retailer Zara to launch a 150-piece collection. Officially known as Benito Antonio, it draws on the sexy, exuberant energy of its native Puerto Rico and translates it into sun-drenched tones, breezy fabrics and loose, laid-back silhouettes that look equally good whether commuting to work on a hot summer day or wearing them at the beach. Looking back, there’s a thread that led us to this moment, from his eye-catching Bad Bunny Bowl performance (wearing an outfit designed by Zara) to his sleek black Met Gala tuxedo made in collaboration with the brand. Consider this a major revelation.
This could also be read as part of Zara’s broader collaborations outside of the fashion world, from the company’s collaboration with Willy Chavarria to its upcoming “creative partnership” with John Galliano.
Not to the point boast Or whatever, but this morning we went to the local Zara to check out the merchandise before the official opening. A store on Spring Street in Soho that used to sell Chavarria’s range of products is now run entirely by Benito. A long queue has begun to form outside. It’s filled with pops of orange and pink, stripes and plaids, and is packed with impressive merchandise. What else could we expect from the man who not only made the best-dressed list of 2025, but topped it all? Here’s a look at the crazy time we spent in the store, trying on as many pieces as we could before the clock ticked until the doors opened.
