Last week, Apple Martin celebrated her graduation from Vanderbilt University in Nashville with her entire family: Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Brad Falchuk, Chris Martin, including Apple’s brother Moses.
Mom and daughter chose two different spring hues and styles for the sunny day. Gwyneth wore a red-collared jacket with a light blue cotton maxi skirt, paired with red sandals and black Wayfarer shoes. Her pedicure was the same tomato color. Red and blue became an unexpectedly popular color combination this spring, thanks to a new color combination on the runways at Prada, Celine and Loewe.
Apple, the eldest child of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, wore a simple white cotton Vivienne Westwood Sunday dress under her graduation gown, paired with black bow-tie small-heeled ballet flats and matching sunglasses.
Her father, Paltrow’s ex-husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, chose a stylishly tailored black suit paired with a black polo shirt. Moses went for more country preppy style in a cream cable-knit sweater, cornflower blue shirt, gray suit pants and brown Chelsea boots.
The law, history and society graduate quickly established a cool, feminine, minimalist sense of style. While the 21-year-old picks signature pieces from her mother’s wardrobe (like this Calvin Klein silhouette and this Alexander McQueen gown), she also frequently wears Gen Z staples: low-rise denim, cropped pants, flowy midi skirts, Mary Janes. The graduate has also built a fashion resume: In 2024, she hired Alessandro Michele to design a custom sky-blue Valentino dress and wore it to Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris, and has since appeared in campaigns for Gap Studio and Self-Portrait.
