Once the last star walks on the red (or green) carpet, the live broadcast ends, most cameras stop filming the 2026 Met Gala, and the real fun begins. This year, guests visited the museum’s new Condé Nast Gallery, where the spring exhibition “The Art of Costume” is being held, and enjoyed a garden-style dinner at the Temple of Dendur and musical performances by Sabrina Carpenter and Stevie Nicks.
Aside from the rare, forbidden bathroom selfie, photos from inside the event are hard to come by. Fortunately, Fashion Photographer Francesc Planes was on hand to capture all the candid moments that can’t be seen anywhere else. The Paris-based photographer, who has shot many fashion weeks with a portfolio that spans documentary and fashion photography, turned his lens on attendees as they enjoyed the evening.
Below, check out the plane’s perspective at night via cinematic photos.
