I Want What I’ve Just Discovered Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott Have

Love is a wonderful thing, especially when you look at it from the outside. In this column, we look at the celebrity couples who give us hope for our own romantic futures, while we try to make sense of our own from their well-documented relationships.

“Have you heard of April? parks and recreation centers and charlie from girls Are you having a baby? “This is an actual text message I saw when I opened my eyes after a nap yesterday. In fact, it looks like Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott are expecting their first child this fall.

A source told reporters: “This is a beautiful surprise after an exciting year.” people Tuesday. “They feel very happy.” I’ve been obsessed with Plaza’s relationship status ever since I learned that Plaza and Michael Cera almost got married just so they could call each other “ex-husband” and “ex-wife,” so this was obviously a big day for me!

Plaza and Abbott have a long career history, having co-starred in the off-Broadway revival of ” Danny and the deep blue sea 2023 and 2024, and independence in 2019 black bear. Still, for fans of both actors, this week’s news doubles as a romance reveal—and I can barely put into words how chic I think that is. On a related note, I have a feeling we won’t hear anything about their kids until their first dark but surprisingly uplifting gruntcore movie hits Sundance in 2048.

Apparently, the internet is a darkening cesspool, and I’ve seen some truly bizarre discussions online about Plaza’s statement, a year after the tragic death of her estranged husband, writer-director Jeff Baena. I couldn’t be more clear on this: Haters, live your life! When and how a celebrity you’ll never meet in real life decides to start a family is none of your business — and frankly, being ungenerous about Plaza and Abbott’s good news feels like the height of metasocial unpleasantness.

Anyone who has experienced grief firsthand will tell you that there is no perfect timetable for “getting over it.” When you have to say goodbye to someone close to you, the best you can hope for is to leave room for joy even in mourning—and that’s exactly what the Plaza seems to be doing. Mazel TV is everywhere!
