Of course, the best vintage pieces have a vivid history, but the best vintage pieces have several histories, and this year’s Vogue Vintage Market is filled with runway looks, red carpet highlights, and understated extraordinary pieces culled from the closets of designers and friends. Fashion. Consider this your first look.
Spring 2016 Chanel Couture dress paired with a matching jacket on the runway; Carolina Herrera Spring 2025 gown worn by Irina Shayk and later Joey King; Loewe Puzzle 10 replica, marking the bag’s 10th anniversary; Anok Yai’s custom Michael Kors tuxedo dress honored at the 2021 CFDA Grand Prize; and the red chiffon Dior dress worn by Maria Grazia Chiuri on her 30th birthday at the start of her reign.
Like what you see? Mark your calendars: Saturday, March 28, the annual Fashion Vintage Market will be a one-day event at Roll & Hill (3 Mercer Street), Soho, from 12pm to 6pm. This year’s auction, hosted by Doja Cat, features rows and rows of archival fashion and homewares sourced from eBay (Doja Cat’s official vintage and pre-owned partner) Fashion), curated by Amy Astley, Emma Chamberlain, Paloma Elsesser and Liana Satenstein, as well as pieces donated directly from the designers’ archives and a curated collection Fashion friends.
Tickets are $45, with 100% of net proceeds benefiting CFDA/Fashion Fashion Fund and NewYork-Presbyterian Center for Youth Mental Health.

Chanel 2016 Spring Haute Couture Dress

This haute couture dress (from an anonymous donor with a deep interest in Chanel couture) is a coveted insider piece for collectors. First seen on the catwalk, paired with a matching jacket, it reflected what Karl Lagerfeld described as a season of “haute couture ecology” – where craftsmanship and longevity take precedence over spectacle.
