Tickets were sold out; fans lined up outside the Palacio de los Deportes, chanting “DOJA! DOJA! DOJA!”; and Doja Cat himself –FashionThe April 2026 cover star—right backstage, nailing her look and creating a glamorous look ahead of a show in Mexico City.
With the help of creative director Brett Alan Nelson, Doja created a unique look. “We kind of had spit days,” Doja said of her and Nelson’s process, admiring her retro blonde bouffant and bangs. Aesthetically, the show is full of evocations of the heady 1980s; Doha cites Gary Numan, Nina Hagen and Grace Jones as its main inspirations.
Soon, it was time for soundcheck, and Doja launched into a rendition of “Jealous Type,” the lead single from her 2025 album, fight for— sounds like she’s already playing to an audience of thousands. That’s what we call (cover) star power.
