February 17th is the Lunar New Year, which, as you may have heard by now, begins the Year of the Fire Horse. This intense, energetic event occurs in a unique configuration: on the same day as the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius. So…it all happened! immediately!
The Chinese Lunar Calendar celebrates 12 animals each year (you may remember that we just had the Year of the Snake). Additionally, each animal is associated with one of the five elements: earth, wood, fire, metal, and water. This current combination of horse and fire occurs only once every 60 years. It always marks change, sometimes some dramatic change. “The transformation from snake to fire horse is not gentle. It is intense. It shakes. It forces you to let go of the skin you have worn out for too long,” says spiritual coach Stefano Attitude, founder of The Coaching Institute.
In fact, the horse is a “yang” energy: vibrant, energetic, and bold. It is an animal that symbolizes strength, freedom, progress, courage and power. These characteristics are amplified by fire, a gorgeous element that represents boldness, passion, and action. Between now and February 6, 2027 – when we enter the Year of the Fire Sheep – everything will accelerate, old patterns will disappear and change will take shape. But it’s also a strong dynamic that can be damaging if left unchecked.
According to Attitude, here are five things to avoid in the Year of the Fire Horse.
Five things to avoid in the Year of the Fire Horse:
impulsive decision
“With the Fire Horse, you may feel the urgency to take action… not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s overflowing inside of you. Send that message, quit that job, be radical in your decision… At the time, it might [feel] Love the clarity. But usually, it’s more like saturation. Consistent decisions are soothing to the body even if they are scary; impulses can quickly relax you and then complicate your life. I don’t ask you this year Act quickly; It requires you to be consistent before moving forward. Moving for the sake of adjustment changes life; running away only solves the problem. “
Full speed ahead, no direction
“This year, when everything is accelerating, it becomes almost uncomfortable to stand still. So you might think you just have to go faster… when the horse first asks you to go in right direction. You can fill your days and make a thousand decisions and still distance yourself… because moving fast is not always a sign of progress. The real question isn’t, ‘What else can I do?’ but, ‘Does what I do allow me to live the life that I think is a good fit for me?’ ‘”
make unrealistic promises
“With Fire, everything seems possible at once: heal yourself, change your life, and ultimately become who you are… But often it’s not a vision but a spike of energy. The Fire Horse provides motivation, not persistence: it reveals what remains when the excitement fades. Many people make big promises and then let themselves down because they come from emotion, not commitment. The Horse isn’t asking you to do this. believe More; it requires you to take small, repetitive actions every day. Your transformation will come from words you silently repeat, not from words you fiercely declare. “
do it alone
“With the energy of the Horse, you may be tempted to do everything alone in order to finally feel free. But the Horse is not a lone wolf. He needs space, yes… but also connections around him. This year, many will call it “independence,” when it really is an “independence.” [closed-off energy] to avoid being touched. But fire amplifies everything: alone, you’ll burn out faster and be spinning in your head longer. Your power lies not in not needing anyone, but in consciously choosing who to move forward with. Isolation protects the ego, while relationships evolve the soul. “
Confusing intuition and reaction
“Over the next few months, you’ll often say to yourself, ‘I just don’t feel it’… and trust that it’s your gut speaking. But often, it’s just the fear of being seen differently and showing up as a more authentic version of yourself. Gut can be scary, but it opens you up. It never locks you in. Reaction, on the other hand, shrinks you, pulls you back, and makes you find excuses to stay the same. Horses follow the heart, even when that’s uncomfortable rather than reassuring. [before making any reactive decisions]Ask yourself, ‘Will this help me grow…or make me shrink?’ ‘”
