40+ Best Home Things Vogue Editors Bought in 2025

They say it’s a mistake to choose your favorite child; but now that it’s the end of the year and staying comfortable at home is the current priority, we’re in the mood for reflection. 2025 brings a lot of interior design fads—some good, some bad, some pewter—though aside from one all-time favorite color, it turns out our editors’ most memorable home purchases had little to do with trends. Our annual favorites list is a mix of practical investments and little luxuries; either a handy desk lamp to light up your daily routine or a frog-adorned paperweight to keep work tidy.

This is the year of bedding updates and nursery mood boards; office updates and dinner prep. Prominent brands and designers such as Parachute and Sophie Lou Jacobsen have registered as Fashion favorite. As for the aforementioned color trends? It looks like the chocolate brown craze is still going strong—even indoors.

Ahead, shopping team of 40+ FashionFavorite Home Buying Projects of 2025; after all, you still have a few days to refresh your space.

“I’m excited about trying to make my new office feel cozier. My bulletin board is filled with the kids’ art, but I need to balance that out so as not to get Miss Frizzle too. I got a beautiful Giacometti-esque bookshelf from Restoration Hardware, four rust-colored Windsor chairs from Serena & Lily, and their sisal rug, a beautiful pot lamp from Irving & Daughters with a Robert Kim A lamp from Kime, plus the most gorgeous Bonacina table and chairs from Cabana, and now we’re cooking!”

“After receiving a lovely avocado green Anglepoise mini table lamp as a gift earlier this year, I decided it was finally time to get my home desk in better shape. My other additions include this marble pencil pot from Bridie Hall, a delightful John Derian I picked up from Choose Keeping in London Frog cutout paperweights, and (in a shameless plug in my own side project, the independent interior design magazine Landscape) the brass incense burner Perfumer H we made for issue 4 – and of course the bespoke incense, made by one of Japan’s few remaining traditional makers.

I also improved my bathing routine this year. First, thanks to these buttery-soft Autumn Sonata towels, and then my new obsession, Sharmadean Read’s new brand of 39BC’s oil-based body cleanser, which is best squeezed into the tub and used to leave your skin silky soft after stepping out. (My favorite scent so far is the decadent Denali, infused with frankincense and sandalwood.)”

“Chocolate brown has been a dominant color in my home this year, and whatever the color suggests, it’s helped me move away from neutrals into colors and prints that serve as a chic backdrop for accessories.”

“In 2025, I discovered a new favorite organizing olive oil, replaced my linen pillowcases, and decided to be the kind of person who always has taper candles on hand (they make the most effortless dinner party centerpieces). 2025 This year I welcomed not one, but two fruit trees into my home – a kumquat and a lemon tree. Are they dead? Yes, very dead but the clay pots I bought to house them inspired me to keep trying to bring them back to life; or at least, find their successors as soon as possible.”

“This season of my life is all about decorating what’s good and replacing things that might be better – especially before baby arrives. A washable dark sofa that opens up to transform into a pit-style conversation bed. We then added the final touches to the main areas, like the vase on the dining table and the egg sculpture in the entryway.”

“As a big fan of warm, vibrant colors in every room, I’ve had my eye on Quiet Town’s neon shower curtains since I first saw them in Coming Soon a few years ago. We bought one this year and it’s a great addition—I love the plastic vinyl material, which feels especially sturdy compared to everyday curtains or liners and their array of mood-boosting colors. When the sun shines into our bathroom, the curtains cast a glow of pinks, oranges, and yellows that feel like a homemade sunset.”

“I’ve bought a lot since moving into my first one-bedroom apartment this summer. Some of my favorite purchases include the restocked Sijo Eucalyptus sheets, which have a cool, almost silky quality, are a dream to sleep on. A plush blanket is a must for snuggling up on the couch. I’m in the early stages of decorating and planning to take my time before committing to big-ticket items (art, coffee tables, large mirrors), so I’m buying very little in the meantime. A sculptural wine shaker from Anissa Kermiche and a ceramic olive oil container from West Elm The best part is that I finally got a Dyson vacuum.

“The new year will bring about a fresh start in my living arrangements—that is, I’m completely overwhelmed with the idea of furnishing a new apartment. The atmosphere I’m trying to create is my own Chelsea Hotel: dark preppy meets cozy eclectic. With that in mind, I’ve started shopping Buy items that spark joy – coasters, cute wine glasses, tables that are apartment-friendly (but still cool), and super soft bedding. Now wish me luck in trying to find a bed and bed sectional (yes, I’m definitely taking suggestions because I have no idea what I’m doing!).”

“I love making yogurt bowls in the morning or after a meal, and one thing that makes the whole process even better is my Porta piccolo spoons. I have them in a variety of colors and they are so sophisticated and cute and make eating anything feel more luxurious. Sophie Lou Jacobsen also has some of the cutest glasses and I’ve given them to some of my friends before, but this year is the first time I’ve actually bought a set for myself. They also look really pretty on my bar cart when not in use.”

Kasey Busiel, Shopping Marketing and Production Manager

“The West Elm Remy table lamp is my favorite part of the living room, creating the perfect mood lighting for early mornings and cozy evenings. We also replaced the standard light bulbs with Philips Hue smart bulbs, which allow us to change the mood with hundreds of different colors and hues.”

“I started collecting Bordallo Pinheiro’s incredible cabbage pottery (vintage and new!) and it adds so much whimsy to my everyday life. While the cheese platter, chips, and dips are definitely the cutest in the collection, my real favorite is the giant pink bowl and plate. They make everyday eating so much more fun.”

“I’ve been living in my own space for over two years, so the past few months I’ve been focusing on little updates here and there. I desperately needed a new kettle and loved this teal Chantal kettle for its pop of color. Another kitchen addition that looks beautiful on my counter is a stylish olive oil dispenser from Holcomb Studio. I also refreshed my bedding with Brooklinen’s super soft sateen sheets and Wooj’s The small spoon lamp completes my cozy sleeping area. ”

“My favorite home purchase this year is the amber velvet pillow from Clic. Not only is it a cozy place for me to rest while watching a movie, it also adds a rich pop of color to the room.”
