If there’s one accessory that quietly defines this season, it’s the scarf. Colorful accents are always a sure-fire way to complete a look and make an outfit feel stylish without even trying—what we like to call “wardrobe magic.” Once reserved for simple finishing touches (like knotting at the neck or tucking into a pocket), it’s evolved into something more expressive — thanks to street style and the spring runways.

On the spring 2026 runways, designers began to make this humble piece not just an accessory, but the focus of the entire look. Kallmeyer, for one, struck a balance between sharp and soft by wearing an oversized silk scarf as a top in some looks and wrapping it over a tailored blazer in others. The look captures this season’s fascination with fluidity and asymmetry. At the Dries Van Noten show, black skirts paired with trousers played up the skirt-with-trouser trend, while at Marina McManus, an embroidered silk pocket square was draped elegantly around the neck. Ferragamo’s belts were replaced by long fringed scarves, while Miu Miu tucked patterned pocket squares under shirts and knitwear.
The point here is not what can a scarf do, but what can it not do? You already know that the styling options are endless, the remaining question is simple: which one do you try first? We think there’s no better place to find inspiration than below – read on.

At Marina McManus, we see a long embroidered silk scarf wrapped elegantly around the neck, paired with a classic poplin shirt, satin trousers and flip-flops. A satin trench coat and fringed earrings were in keeping with McManus’ eclectic, feminine effortless style.
